National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat), A National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy
To achieve the goals of FLN in the country, the Ministry of Education launched the National Mission on FLN (NIPUN Bharat) on 5th July 2021.
Foundational Language and LiteracyKey components involved in acquiring these skills are–Oral Language Development, Decoding, Reading Fluency with Comprehension, WritingFoundational NumeracyKey components include–Pre-Number Concepts, Numbers and Operations on Numbers, Shapes and Spatial Understanding, Measurement.KVS schools will aim at attainment of FLN by all students by Grade 3, in mission mode.Introducing competency-based education at primary level and adoption of learning outcome metrics as developed by the CBSE and NCERT.
